Since its establishment, the Finance Department has undertaken the responsibilityfor supporting all government projects and providing physical and moral support to whatsoever may lead to serve and promote the emirate. In view of close association between Finance Department and all Government Departments and Organizations including clients, the Department, as part of businessfacilitation, rapid transactional processing and communication with whoever is relative to the Department, was in the opinion of updating the Department`s Website in order to communicate with the departmental clients, job seekers and review all financial bulletins and news in which everybody is interested. The Finance Departmentis the first of Fujairah local Government Departments to be established in 1969. The Amiri Decree No (2) for 2015 issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah determined Finance Department`s functions as follows: • Manage Government`s funds and its oversee its financial and accounting matters. • Prepare Government`s general budget in coordination and collaboration with Government Departments and follow-up its implementation. • Develop appropriate plans for providing annual liquidity and transfer funds prescribed for each Department. • Prepare Studies relating to charges, taxes and other matters with the objective of developing them in a manner comparable to the emirate`s interest. • Lay down general rules for regulating accounts and accounting records at Government Departments and issue instructions for such purpose. • Follow-up implementation of Government Agreements relating to Government financial affairs. • Supervise Government Departments` bank accounts. • Prepare year-end general final account and submit it to the Ruler for approval. • Study financial cases from which financial rights may arise in favor of the and refer them to the competent entity for prosecuting and defending the emirate`s rights. • Any other functions assigned by the Ruler of the Crown Prince. OTHER FUNCTIONS • Audit and verify financial transactions before their payment in accordance with the applicable mechanisms in this respect. • Audit salaries of employees working for Government Departments before their approval and transfer payable salaries to the banks.
